Fall 23 Classwork

Artist Statement
This project took me forever but it was easily my favorite. I don't exactly know why, it was just one of those projects that whenever I got the chance, I was excited to work on it. To me, something is soothing about editing and organizing together a page together. To create it, I downloaded a template online and simply adjusted the pages to be able to present my work in a visually pleasing way. This template gave me a good basis for a color scheme and an overall idea of how I want to piece my projects and artist statements together. However, after implementing my pieces and information, I ended up changing a lot of the layouts already made for me in the template and creating my own. At the end of the day, I am very proud of the booklet I created and how I presented my work for the semester. I believe represents me well as it is professional, informative, and organized.
Business Cards
Artist Statement
I'm very proud of the business cards I created, I feel as though they represent me well. I first started by creating 12 sketches of cards that I believed would represent me, include my logo, and look professional so that I might be able to use them one day. After sketching, I created my page layout in In Design, imported my logos, and got to work. I realize none of my business cards match my sketches perfectly. That is because once I started creating these cards, I did not like how some of these designs looked as a final product, so I kind of freestyled off of them and I am really happy with what I created. The hardest part about this project was selecting the right shades of blue, green, and brown to create an effective and visually pleasing ombre effect.

Postcard
Artist Statement
I'm very proud of the Propaganda Art Poster I created earlier in the semester, so I knew I wanted to incorporate it into my postcard somehow. So, I created a fake postcard for the Tampa Museum of Art, where they showcase an installation of Art Propaganda. Because there is so much color and symmetry within the poster, I wanted to keep everything else very simple and symmetrical as well. I created different text codes to create the title and subtitle and kept them black so the text didn't get lost within the poster art. Finally, I included a previous tag brush project as the museum's logo.
